Stats update

A while back I posted download stats for abduction and it’s about time for an update. This came about because I was really interested to see the stats Firemint published for Flight Control and there are no reliable figures for downloads on Android.

You can see that download figures are still healthy as a result of the expanding Android user base. In particular there is a definite boost around November when the Motorola Droid was released (although this was also when Gem Miner was released, so may also be due to cross-promotion).

Green lines are total downloads, blue lines are active installs:

Abduction! (Free)

Abduction! World Attack (Paid)

Gem Miner (Free)

Gem Miner: Dig Deeper (Paid)

Milky Milky (Free)

Thanks for sharing the stats. How did you track them? Did you manually record your downloads and installs from the Developer interface, or use some kind of tool?

Very interesting statistics. Your growth rate is incredible, i envy you :) . I’d be interested to know how you approached marketing your game. I think that would be very useful information a lot of diy gamedevs would enjoy to read.

    Keep up the good work!

Thanks! I haven’t done much active marketing, but I do take up all offers of interviews/reviews/partnerships etc.

My main concern has been to work hard at releasing meaningful updates incorporating user feedback, particularly in the early release period.
